Earthworks

Reliable earthworks and site preparation - the solid foundation every construction project needs.

Earthworks, Excavation & Site Preparation

Every successful build starts below ground. MBO RENOV provides full-scope earthworks services across Belgium and Northern France, from initial land clearing and topsoil stripping to precision excavation for foundations and utility trenches. We operate a fleet of modern machinery suited to projects of all scales, from a single residential plot to multi-unit developments.

Proper earthworks determine the structural integrity of everything built above. Our team manages soil analysis, grading, compaction and drainage installation to ensure your site is stable and compliant with Belgian construction standards. We coordinate closely with architects and structural engineers so the groundwork is ready on schedule and within budget.

Land clearing, topsoil stripping and demolition
Foundation excavation for residential and commercial buildings
Trench digging for water, gas, electricity and sewer connections
Drainage systems and stormwater management
Grading, levelling and soil compaction
Access roads and temporary site infrastructure

Our Earthworks Process

We start with a site visit to assess terrain conditions, soil type and access constraints. A detailed execution plan is drafted including machinery requirements and waste disposal. During works, GPS-guided equipment ensures precision grading and depth control. After completion we provide compaction test results and as-built drawings for the next phase of construction.

Frequently Asked Questions : Earthworks

Do I need a soil study before earthworks begin?

In most cases, yes. A geotechnical soil study identifies bearing capacity, water-table level and potential contamination. It is required for building permits in Belgium and prevents costly surprises during excavation.

How do you handle contaminated soil?

If contamination is detected, we follow the regional regulations (SPAQuE in Wallonia, OVAM in Flanders) for safe excavation, transport and disposal at certified treatment centres.

Can you work on sloped or difficult terrain?

Absolutely. We have compact excavators and specialised equipment for steep gradients, narrow access and waterlogged ground. Retaining walls and drainage solutions are integrated as needed.
